Abstract
This Act, consisting of seven Chapters divided into 60 sections, sets the management plan for water resources within the Baffle Creek Basin. Section 2 establishes the following purposes of the plan: to define the availability of water in the plan area; to provide a framework for sustainably managing water and the taking of water; to identify priorities and mechanisms for dealing with future water requirements; to provide a framework for minimising, where practicable, degradation in natural ecosystems; to regulate the taking of overland flow water. Chap. 2 specifies the plan area and water to which the plans applies. Chap. 3 establishes the outcomes for sustainable management of water. Chap. 4 concerns performance indicators and objectives. Chap. 5 covers the strategies for achieving outcomes. Chap. 6 deals with monitoring and reporting requirements. Chap. 7 Amendments to this plan. The plan is completed by nine Schedules related to plan areas and allowable total volumetric increase in in-stream water storage capacity for sub-catchments.
