Abstract
These Regulations, consisting of 61 sections divided into five Parts and completed by ten Schedules, implement the Nature Conservation Act 2002.
The Regulations establish a licensing and permit system to regulate hunting, taking, trading, taxidermy and related uses of wildlife and the products of wildlife. Application procedures and licence or permit conditions are provided for in the text.
The Regulations classify wildlife as protected, partly protected, specially protected and restricted (special purpose) and prescribe certain animals as restricted animals and domestic stock for the purposes of the Act.
The Regulations further provide for: record keeping; prohibited methods of hunting; royalties; powers of wildlife officers; infringement notice offences and penalties; etc.
