Law No. 271-VQ on science.

This Law sets out the main principles of state policy in the field of organization, management and development of scientific activity in Azerbaijan, the goals of science and scientific innovation activities, the rights and obligations of scientific organizations, financial mechanisms for science, and the organizational and legal foundations for stimulating scientific achievements and their use. It determines the leading role of science in ensuring the political, economic, social and cultural development of the country, improving the well-being and scientific level of every citizen of Azerbaijan, acquiring new knowledge and satisfying their natural and spiritual needs, such as understanding the world. This Law does not allow conducting scientific research that could pose a serious threat to the country's security, the health of citizens, and the environment, or harming national and spiritual values or the history of the people, or using such scientific results.
