Ministerial Decree No. 259 on approval on organization of state control on conservation and efficient use of genetic resources of cultivated plants.

This Decree states that Scientific and Technical Council shall be established, with the participation of National Academy of Science, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents. Furthermore, Institute of Genetic Resources shall be determined as the national coordinator. The organization of state control aims at a) ensuring efficient use and preservation of genetic resources of cultivated plants, b) preventing import and export of rare and endangered plant species, genetically modified plants and plants which can pose a threat to health and environment, and c) taking measures to implement breeding programs and scientific research. This Decree sets forth provisions on rules of state supervision and suspension of activities in related field.
