Ministerial Decree No. 259 on approval of Regulation of the National Gene Bank.

This Decree states that Scientific and Technical Council shall be established, with the participation of National Academy of Science, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents. Furthermore, Institute of Genetic Resources shall be determined as the national coordinator. This Decree sets forth provisions for establishment, duties, rights, scientific research activities, finance and preservation of National Gene Bank to conserve gene fund of cultivated plants. The main task of the National Gene Bank shall be a) registration into national collection by documenting samples of cultivated plants and plasma cell of wild plants, b) conservation, restoration, improvement of genetic resources of cultivated plants and spread for scientific purposes, and c) build a database and organize effectively.
