Ministerial Decree No. 259 on approval of rules on genetically modified plants across the country and detection of spread areas.

This Decree states that Scientific and Technical Council shall be established, with the participation of National Academy of Science, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents. Furthermore, Institute of Genetic Resources shall be determined as the national coordinator. This Decree states that using genetic materials, zoning and state registration of genetically modified plants are strictly prohibited. This Decree sets forth provisions on detection of spread areas and deactivation of genetically modified plants.
