Abstract
This Law regulates the responsibility of the people in order to protect the animal health and their general welfare conditions, by defining various aspects such as terms of housing, inspection and monitoring duties and rules, rules for animal production/reproduction, rules and responsibilities of the veterinary duties and practices, food and accommodation, protection from torture, the protection of animals during the killing or slaughtering, avoiding stress during transport/storage/keeping, protection of wild animals, and by implementing the specific attitude towards stray animals, pets and laboratory animals, and further by forming the official Commission for the protection and welfare of animals.
The provisions of this Law shall apply to all live animals on the territory of the Republic of Srpska (part of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina), and will also apply to other organisms that cannot be properly identified and/or classified.
The Law is divided into XIV Chapters and 47 articles, including the offences and related penalties.
