Abstract
This Law regulates the protection of water, shoreline and water lands; planning and programming of water protection, water protection organization, supervision, financing and fines for legal entities and individuals.
Protection of water, shoreline and land water covered areas also includes the land conservation and water flow rate rules, maintaining the shore and land water and making decisions about the use and load/expropriation of water on the territory of the Bosnian Federation (BIH).
The main objective of this Law is to ensure the sustainable use of water in order to maintain and improve the direct water quality, ensuring the preservation of natural processes and natural water balance, aquatic ecosystems and the landscape characteristics of the water, and also in cooperation with the competent authorities responsible for water management, to conserve and regulate the water quantity for various types of use in order to realize and guarantee its economic, social and environmental functions.
The Law is divided into 10 Chapters and 61 articles, including all offences and related penalties.
