Abstract
This Regulation defines the provisions governing the conditions for use of auxiliary substances in food production and processing.
This text sets the official parameters of permissibility and/or tolerance for the use of each individual group and type of food, including the percentage of allowed residues in food; specific technological needs; declaration and marking of those substances and food that was treated or processed with that kind of auxiliary substance; inspection and official control matters.
Some of the substances here considered are as follows: anti-foaming agents; substances for the preparation of process water; catalysts; clarification/filtration agents; substances for cooling; substances against dehydration and tearing; detergents; substances for the immobilization of enzymes; clarification, filtration and absorption agents; ion changers (also considered as resins), membranes and molecular sieves; various lubricants; microbial growth control substances; packaging gases; extracting agents, solvents used in aroma production; substances for washing and peeling, removing of shell, bark, skin, and other auxiliary substances as listed in the Annex.
