Abstract
This Regulation, for the purpose of the Veterinary Law, prescribes several necessary conditions regarding the premises, technical equipment and professional qualifications of employees who must be met by authorized laboratories, which are engaged in the performance of diagnostic tests over animal infectious diseases, detection of residues of harmful substances in animals and products of animal origin, water and feed, health and hygiene testing and quality of general use foodstuffs, animal feed and other tests. This text further sets the procedure for authorization of such laboratories and the conditions and manner for the designation of reference laboratories, as well as supervision of laboratory work.
Article 11 sets out the meeting standards as follows: authorized laboratories are required to apply the General Laboratory Competence Requirements for testing and calibrations prescribed by the standard EN ISO/IEC 17025:2000.
