Abstract
This Regulation prescribes the conditions aimed to ensure the maintenance of quality of forest and horticultural planting materials.
Planting material that is placed on the market must be stored in conditions that ensure its quality preservation. Planting material is removed by machine and by hand (axes, forks and other tools). Removal of planting material in the seedling facility of site must be carried out so as not to damage the roots and root hairs of planting material that has to be removed or extracted. Extraction of seedlings is done immediately before the seedlings are sent to the final destination. If not immediately transported, seedlings after removal must be stored in refrigerators or in different controlled conditions until their transport (in same cases, no longer than five days). Due to the danger of drying out the root system during the manipulation of planting material, the root of seedlings must be, immediately after extraction, treated in a solution (liquid mud, hydro-gel, etc.), which prevents its possible rapid drying process of such planting material.
