Regulation on eco-labels and on the method of managing eco-labels.

This Regulation prescribes the eco-labelling system and the procedure for awarding eco-labels, the authorities responsible for managing the eco-labelling system, from the selection of product groups and their environmental criteria to the award of the eco-label and the conclusion of a contract relating to the conditions for the use of the label, in a manner that enables the voluntary participation of legal and natural persons whose products and services meet the requirements of this system. The eco-label is an emblem awarded on the basis of established criteria, with the participation of experts and the public according to a defined procedure, and refers to quality from the point of view of environmental protection throughout the entire life cycle and designates a product that, in comparison with similar or identical products, has a reduced negative impact on the environment.
