Abstract
This Regulation defines the rules as regards the safe and controlled use of specific materials and items or articles made from the same that are designed to come into direct and/or indirect contact with food and foodstuff (food packaging and similar).
This text closely sets the issues related to the placing on the market of such materials and articles, declaration of conformity, consumer protection principles, and official control and inspection provisions (article 14).
The Annex is part of this publication (containing the list of materials for which special or different measures can be provided; and official logo of the food approved packaging material or package itself).
