Abstract
This Regulation, based on the provisions of the Veterinary Law (Republika Srpska), prescribes measures aimed for combat and eradication of the equine infectious anemia. For the purpose of detection, monitoring and suppression of infectious anemia, a diagnostic examination for infectious anemia of horses shall be carried out once a year, or two times a year when it comes to horses for the production of biological preparations (serums and vaccines). A diagnostic test may also be performed by using the ELISA test, but in this case any positive result is confirmed by applying the AGID test. To combat infectious anemia, equidae which had a serologically positive reaction, must be: 1) killed immediately and remove harmlessly, if show clinical signs of IAC; 2) immediately kill and harmlessly remove if the owner does not have a valid equine health certificate or if the equine is not properly marked and if it is not possible to determine its origin; 3) send for slaughter, no later than within seven days, if there are no clinical signs of infectious anemia and if the owner has a valid equine health certificate, issued before the confirmation of infectious anemia.
