Abstract
This Law regulates various issues regarding the veterinary sector on the territory of the Republic of Srpsla (part of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina) and its related activities such as: animal health protection; rules and requirements for the mandatory, ordinary and extraordinary performance of all veterinary activities (including momnitoring, inspection and research, quarantine and many other); detection, preventing of the spread, suppression and eradication of all infectious animal diseases; prevention of diseases that are common to animal and people; veterinary and sanitary control of breeding and transported animals; specifications for all products, raw materials and waste of animal origin, animal feed and water; reproduction of animals; application of zoohygienic practices; technological measures in veterinary sector; general and specific technical issues and terms of animal health protection.
Animals in terms of this Law are: every mammal, except man, every four-legged non-mammalian being, domestic and wild birds, fish, reptiles and crustaceans, other cold-blooded creatures of any kind and bees that make honey. This Law further defines: competency of the veterinary service, organization and the competence of the Veterinary Chamber, expertise and consultancy in resolving various administrative and technical issues, basis for the improvement in veterinary medicine, including the Veterinary database and information system.
The Law is divided into XIII Chapters and 84 articles, including the offences and penalties.
