Abstract
This Regulation prescribes the measures to be applied in the event of an outbreak of Newcastle disease in: a) poultry and; b) sport pigeons and other captive birds. In case of suspicion of the presence of Newcastle disease, the competent veterinary organization is obliged to, as soon as possible (no longer than 24 hours), inform the competent veterinary inspectorate and competent authorities, which have their further obligations in this matter.
This text is structured into five thematic Chapters as follows: I. Subject matter and glossary; II. Measures in case of disease; III. Vaccination; IV. Measures in case of letter-bearing bird diseases and plan for emergency measures; V. Transitional and final provisions.
The Annex is also part of this publication (containing technical sheets and indication and criteria lists).
