Abstract
This Regulation provides for the classification due to the consistent risk status of counties or regions in relation to bovine spongiform encephalopathy (animal disease). The first group (A) is related to countries or regions with negligible bovine spongiform encephalopathy risk: Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Argentina, Australia, Chile, New Zealand, Paraguay, Singapore, Uruguay. Group B regards the countries or regions with controlled bovine spongiform encephalopathy risk: Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Japan, Mexico, Taiwan, United States. The group C represents those countries or regions with undetermined bovine spongiform encephalopathy risks (countries or regions not listed in above mentioned groups A or B).
