Special surveillance program for the presence of the quarantine pest Alternaria mali Roberts - the causative agent of apple Alternaria spot in the territory of the Republika Srpska in 2024.

This program establishes measures, deadlines, the method of implementing measures, entities implementing them, sources and the method of providing and using funds, as well as the method of controlling the implementation of special surveillance measures over the presence of Alternaria mali Roberts - the causative agent of apple Alternaria leaf spot on the territory of the Republic of Srpska in 2024. The objective of this program is to determine the presence, or rather the absence, of the quarantine harmful organism Alternaria mali - the causative agent of apple Alternaria leaf spot in parent plantings of registered nurseries, on agricultural holdings and homesteads, as well as in production plantings of plant species that are hosts to the pathogen. The host plant species of this pathogen in the Republika Srpska are pome fruit species, species of the genus Malus (apple [Malus domestica Borkh.] and wild apple [Malus sylvestris (L.) Mill.]). Special surveillance shall be conducted to investigate a wider area, i.e. the localities where the host plants are grown, in order to determine the status of the investigated area for the specified organism, and to determine possible routes of entry or spread.
