Special surveillance program for the presence of quarantine pests Geosmithia morbida Kolarik et al. - the causative agent of walnut canker and the vector Pityophthorus juglandis Blackman - the walnut bark beetle in the territory of the Republika Srpska in 2024.

This program establishes measures, deadlines, the method of implementing measures, entities implementing them, sources and the method of providing and using funds, as well as the method of controlling the implementation of special surveillance measures over the presence of Geosmithia morbida Kolarik et al. - the causative agent of walnut canker and the vector Pityophthorus juglandis Blackman - the walnut bark beetle on the territory of the Republika Srpska in 2024. The aim of this program is to determine the presence or absence of the quarantine harmful organisms Geosmithia morbida - the causative agent of walnut canker and the vector Pityophthorus juglandis - the walnut bark beetle in the parent plants of registered nurseries, on agricultural holdings and homesteads, as well as in production plantations and public areas of plant species that are hosts to the pathogens and vectors listed in the list of host plants of the quarantine harmful organisms Geosmithia morbida and Pityophthorus juglandis in Annex. Also plant species that are hosts to this pathogen in the Republika Srpska are listed in Annex 1. Special surveillance shall investigate a wider area, i.e. localities where host plants are grown, in order to determine the status of the investigated area for the specified organism, and to determine possible routes of entry or spread.
