Abstract
This Act, consisting of 28 sections, provides for animal slaughtering, ensuring the quality of meat for human consumption. It establishes that no person, institution or organization shall slaughter any animal for selling commercial purposes without authorization, namely: a) Eid al-Azha, Eid al Fitr or any other religious, social programme and any other festival or event declared by the notification; b) for domestic consumption purposes based on family needs. The animal shall be slaughtered in place and in the manner mentioned in clause (a) or (b) in sub-section (a) where: a) the source of water the air or any other environment are not polluted and b) animal sacrifice and waste is prohibited as per the prescribed procedure. In addition, it specifies that no person, organization or statutory body shall, for the purpose of obtaining license establish or sell meat for commercial purpose and establish a meat processing factory.
