Abstract
These Rules are framed in exercise of section 22 of the Mandatory Jute Packaging Act, 2010. They require recording of data and reporting in respect of production and packaging of goods in the domestic market as well as imported goods. The factors to be considered by the Advisory Committee for prescribing products for mandatory use of jute wrapping are laid down. These include availability of jute, quantity of products, environmental and health issues. The procedure to be followed for disposal of seized goods is provided.
