Decree No 11 of 23 January 2018 adopting the Regulation on requirements and criteria for water and sewerage operators and the qualification of their personnel.

This Decree adopts the contents of the Regulation on requirements and criteria for water and sewerage operators and the qualification of their personnel, in accordance with the provisions of the article 198 (o) of the Bulgarian Water Act (water-supply and sewerage systems and facilities).
Water and sewerage operators may be only capital companies with distinct territories, with main activity that includes the provision of water services on the national territory.
The aim of this text is to set the basis for the effective implementation and maintenance of the necessary quality management system, environmental management system and health and safety management system in relation to water and sewage services and operations.
Some of the standards here adopted are: ISO 9001 Quality management systems; EN ISO 14001 management systems in relation to the environment; and Certified management system under BS OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety management systems.
