Law on the Center for food chain risk assessment.

This Law regulates the structure and activity of the Bulgarian Center for food chain risk assessment, and sets out the duties and powers of its organs. The Center for food chain risk assessment is a state budget-supported legal entity, under the management of the national Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry.
The Center for assessment of risk in the food chain shall represent: a competent body within the meaning of article 22 (paragraph 7) of the Regulation (EC) No 178/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 January 2002 laying down the general principles and requirements of food law, establishing the European Food Safety Authority and laying down procedures in matters of food safety; an organization in network of organizations, working in areas of competence of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), according to article 36 of Regulation (EC) 178/2002; competent and coordinating body in the sense of article 75 (paragraphs 1 and 2) of the Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 October 2009 concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market and repealing Council Directives 79/117/EEC and 91/414/EEC.
