Law on protection of animals.

This Law regulates various aspects of the animal protection on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria.
The provisions stipulated by this Law are closely related to the protection of live animal life, health and its overall good conditions, the protection from inhuman, brutal and particularly cruel situations/treatments, the respect of animal physiological and ethological needs, the implementation of the common sense of responsibility and compassion for animals, and many other relevant principles (animal health, animal welfare).
This Law further defines the responsibility of society (public participation, public organizations) in terms of necessary protection of animal lives, health and welfare; the good breeding practices; various aims for preventing of pain, injury and disease; additional rules for the protection from fear and stress situations; inspection and offences and penalty provisions.
