Abstract
This Law defines the planning, programming, management, resource management, monitoring, control and evaluation of the implementation of the strategies, plans and programs for the effective implementation of the state policy for regional development.
Major aims of these provisions are: to create the necessary conditions for balanced and sustainable integrated development of Bulgarian regions and municipalities; to reduce the inter-regional and intra-regional disparities (on economic level, social and territorial); to ensure the conditions for accelerated economic growth and higher employment; to promote the territorial cooperation; to offer a unified approach to planning and programming; to handle the financing of national public sources in co-financing (also private sources and international financial institutions); to assure the effective coherence with other structural policies, instruments and actions at international, national, regional and local level.
