Abstract
The Bulgarian National emergency plan-Part 1: “Earthquake protection” is a thematic emergency planning document that is meant as guidelines for facing earthquake disaster situations. The section "Protection against earthquakes" of the National Plan for Protection against Disasters shall be put into effect by the Prime Minister when a state of emergency is declared on the national territory of more than one region or when declaration of a state of emergency on the territory of a region or municipality, when the forces and means provided for in the regional disaster protection plan are unable to cope with the situation.
