Abstract
This Regulation provides for the hygiene requirements for food producers and traders, including persons carrying out primary food production and related production activities; hygiene requirements for primary food production; hygiene requirements for food production and trade facilities; and other related conditions and premises for food and foodstuff production and trade.
This Regulation introduces the requirements of the Commission Directive 98/28/EC of 29 April 1998 granting a derogation from certain provisions of Directive 93/43/EEC on the hygiene of foodstuffs as regards the transport by sea of bulk raw sugar. The text further creates the necessary conditions for the implementation of the following: Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 on food hygiene; and Commission Regulation (EC) No 579/2014 of 28 May 2014 concerning the derogation from certain provisions of Annex II to Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the transport of liquid oils and fat at sea.
