Abstract
This Regulation defines the concrete target values for maximum levels of concentration as regards the arsenic, cadmium, nickel and benzo (a) pyrene in ambient air; uniform methods and criteria for assessing the levels of arsenic, cadmium, mercury, nickel and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the ambient air and their deposition in atmospheric air; methods for improvement of the ambient air quality in target areas; public information approach.
These rules are aimed at avoiding, preventing or limiting possible harmful effects on human health and environment.
This text introduces the requirements stipulated by the Directive 2004/107/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 December 2004 relating to arsenic, cadmium, mercury, nickel and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in ambient air.
The Annex is also part of this publication (list of target levels; list of assessment requirements, official reference methods; conditions and criteria for determining the number of monitoring stations for continuous measurements).
