Abstract
This Law stipulates various provisions and rules with the aim to protect the people's health and their offspring, animals and plants, their communities and habitats, natural and cultural values from harmful effects, and to prevent the occurrence of hazards and damage to society from changes in air quality due to activities that can damage the air quality (on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria).
This Law closely implements and defines the: indicators and standards for ambient air quality (also adopts international standards that are also listed in this text); limitation of emissions; rights and obligations of state and municipal authorities, legal and Individuals in the control, management and maintenance of quality ambient air; quality requirements for liquid fuels, including monitoring over the effective compliance with such requirements (including the processes such as marketing, distribution, transport and concrete use); restrictions in emissions of sulfur dioxide (restrictions over the effective sulfur content); and other relevant issues (including offences and consequential penalties).
