Abstract
This Regulation defines the categories of cereal seeds that are marketed on the territory of the European Union; type of direct seed control to be performed by official bodies for certification purposes.
This text also sets the field inspection issues; laboratory quality analysis; spatial isolation requirements; specific market conditions; detailed necessary certification procedures and related technical and administrative requirements; packaging and labelling issues; conditions and procedure for approving mixtures, verifying the germination of the mixtures; conditions and procedure for ex-post control; rules regarding the possible imports of such seeds from third or foreign countries; trade in seed produced under special conditions and for specific use or purpose.
