Regulation No. 5 of 13 August 2019 on the preparation and submission of requests to the European Commission on agricultural products and foodstuffs with the protected geographical indication and traditionally specific character, on the control of compliance with the product specification, and on the keeping records of producers and controllers.

This Regulation sets the rules aimed at governing the composition and functions of the Permanent inter-agency Advisory Committee on Geographical Indications and Traditionally Specific Foods; the terms and procedure for: preparation and submission of relevant documents to the European Commission, including the entry into the European Register of protected designations of origin and protected geographical indications and/or to the European Register of Traditionally Specific Foods.
This Regulation further determines the rules related to the issuance of authorizations for the control over the necessary conformity of agricultural products and foodstuffs, of a traditional specific nature or protected geographical indication with the specification of the product or food, the granting of a provisional authorization and the supervision of controllers; keeping of the register of producers of agricultural products and foodstuffs with geographical indications, producers of agricultural products and foodstuffs with traditionally specific character and of persons who control the conformity of products and foodstuffs with such indication of origin.
