Abstract
This Regulation determines the maximum levels (MRL) of certain food contaminants and microbiological criteria for food safety and food hygiene; the requirements for the sampling methods and methods of analysis applied in the conduction of official food controls as regards the effective content of certain pollutants.
The compliance of foodstuffs with the maximum levels of certain pollutants and with the microbiological criteria shall be established on the basis of the results obtained from the analysis of laboratory samples.
This Regulation creates the conditions for the application of the following Regulations: Regulation (EC) No 1881/2006; Regulation (EC) No 2073/2005; Regulation (EC) No 401/2006; Regulation (EC) No 1882/2006; Regulation (EC) No 333/2007; and Regulation (EC) No 252/2012 (See article 3 of this text for the complete list of European Union and Commission documents that are considered and adopted as valid reference methods and values).
