Abstract
This Regulation determines the functions, structure, composition, procedures and staff related issues of the Bulgarian Executive Agency for Fisheries and Aquaculture under the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry. The Agency has been designated as a managing authority in respect of the funds from the European Fisheries Fund of the European Union (EU EDF) intended for the implementation of the Operational Programme for Development of the Fisheries Sector of the Republic of Bulgaria for the period from 2007 to 2013.
The Agency carries out different activities related to the implementation of the fisheries policy within the framework of the Common Fisheries Policy, the state supervision, the control over the fishing activities in fishery waters and sites, as well as other activities if assigned by laws or other acts.
The Executive Agency under Fisheries and aquaculture, if necessary, carries out joint activities with the General Directorate of Border Police (DGF), with the Customs Agency and with all services carrying out mandatory border control, for monitoring and control of fishing vessels, fishing and fishery activities in the border zone, in the zones of border checkpoints, ports, inland waters, territorial sea, adjacent zone, continental shelf, exclusive economic zone, the Bulgarian section of the Danube and in other border rivers and reservoirs, in case of import and export of fish, fishery products and aquaculture.
