Abstract
This Law regulates the relations associated with ownership, organization, management, use and conservation of fishery resources in the waters (marine and freshwater) of the Republic of Bulgaria, including the trading issues and relation and provisions also regarding the other aquatic organisms.
The provisions here defined are aimed to implement the sustainable development of fishery resources and conservation of biological balance and to enrich the diversity of fishery resources in aquatic ecosystems; the development of commercial and recreational fisheries and aquaculture; the application of the rules on responsible fishing; and further increasing the consumption of fish and fish products in the country.
The Law is divided into VIII Chapters and 124 articles, including the offences and related penalties.
Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force on the day of its publication in the Official Gazette.
