Abstract
This Regulation sets the necessary procedures and requirements for the effective placing on the market of oils, including rules for the principle of separate oil collection, storage, transport, recovery/regeneration and disposal (also for waste oils and waste oil products).
Major objective of this text is to offer prevention and reduction of air, water and soil pollution, as well as to limit the risk to human health and environment (if resulting from treatment and transport of waste oils and waste oil/waste petroleum products); to impose the separate collection, recovery and/or safe disposal of the above mentioned oil and waste oil; to inform the end users regarding their obligations in such terms.
This Regulation respects the rules and provisions contained in the Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 November 2008 on waste.
The Annex is also part of this text.
