Legislative Decree No. 16 of 1993 amending Law No. 3 of 1975 on public health.

This Legislative Decree amends Law No. 3 of 1975 concerning public health.
Article 1 is amended by defining Executive Authority which shall mean the Authorized Authority or the Environment Protection Committee. Article 63 attributes the responsibility for pollution caused by oil spills from ships or land based sources to ship-owners or source owners. Article 69 provides for the cooperation between the Port Authority, the Ministry of Public Health and the Environment Protection Committee in fighting pollution. Article 70 specifies offences and penalties. The Legislative Decree further adds a new article 70b dealing with the procedures for the seizure of ships responsible for polluting.
