Agreement on the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources.

This Agreement aims to maintain essential ecological process and life-support systems, preserve genetic diversity and ensure the sustainable utilization of harvested natural resources.
The Agreement provides for the conservation of animal and plant species and ecosystem conservation through extensive management measures, including species sustainable use and for environmental planning measures with a view to integrating natural resource conservation into the land use process, including by the establishment of protected areas and impact assessments.
The Agreement also addresses public participation in planning and implementation of conservation measures.
The Agreement further provides for: international cooperation by coordinating activities in the field of conservation of nature and management of natural resources; meetings of the Contracting Parties; designation of appropriate national agencies for coordinating matters and channeling communications between parties with the Secretariat; etc.
