Abstract
This Act provides for the protection of consumers against unfair practices.
A consumer who has entered a consumer transaction involving unfair practice may commence an action in court of competent jurisdiction against the supplier. Unfair practices for a supplier, in relation to a consumer transaction are: to do or say anything, or omit to do or say anything, if as a result a consumer might be deceived or misled; make a false claim; take advantage of the consumer; and any other practices specified in Schedule 2.
The Act further provides for: jurisdiction and powers of courts; voluntary compliance agreements; declarations and injunctions; etc.
