Abstract
This Order, comprising of 2 Sections, clarifies that Section 5(1)(a) of the Electricity Act — which prohibits unauthorized electricity generation activities under the Licensing of Activities relating to Electricity — does not apply to individuals generating electricity with units rated below one megawatt or to standby units used solely for backup power and not connected to the main transmission or distribution system.
