Abstract
These Regulations, consisting of 9 articles, ensure that all meat products are safe, properly documented, and labeled to protect public health and uphold food safety standards. Key provisions include: (i) licenses or permits to operate in Brunei are only granted to businesses registered under the Business Names Act or Companies Act; (ii) the Director may refuse licenses to applicants with prior convictions or revoked licenses; (iii) licenses are non-transferable, with violations incurring fines; (iv) documentation is required for licensees importing or transshipping meat products; (v) all imported meat must be properly examined and labeled; (vi) unfit meat must be disposed of; and (vii) export health certificates are issued if the meat meets the import requirements of the destination country.
