Decree No. 11.679 establishing the Brazil Without Hunger Plan.

This Decree creates the Brazil Without Hunger Plan (Plano Brasil Sem Fome), with the aim of promoting food and nutritional security and tackling hunger in the country. The Brazil Without Hunger Plan has the following objectives: to reduce the number of people affected by food and nutritional insecurity; to reduce poverty; to implement intersectoral strategies for the coordination, integration and monitoring of policies, programmes and actions to eradicate hunger and increase production and access to adequate and healthy food for the population in a sustainable manner; to increase social participation and strengthen civil society organisations and initiatives for the eradication of hunger and the promotion of food and nutritional security; and to strengthen the National Food and Nutritional Security System (SISAN).
