Decree No. 11.704 creating the National Commission for the Sustainable Development Goals.

This Decree creates the National Commission for Sustainable Development Goals, within the scope of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, with the purpose of: I - contribute to the internalization of the 2030 Agenda; II - encourage the implementation of the 2030 Agenda in all spheres of government and with civil society; and III - monitor, disseminate and provide transparency to the actions carried out to achieve its goals and progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals - SDGs of the 2030 Agenda, subscribed by the Federative Republic of Brazil. The National Commission is responsible for: I - propose strategies and activities that contribute to the implementation of the SDGs; II - monitor the achievement of the SDGs; III - prepare subsidies for discussions on sustainable development in national and international forums; IV - identify, systematize and disseminate good practices and initiatives that contribute to achieving the SDGs; V - promote coordination with state, district and municipal public entities for the dissemination and implementation of the SDGs at the state, district and municipal level; and VI - consolidate a report on government actions related to the SDGs.
