Abstract
This Decree regulates the inspection on plant origin products established by Law No. 7.678 of 8 November 1988, by Article 27-A, by Article 28-A and by Article 29-A of Law No. 8.171 of 17 January 1991, by Law No. 8.918 of 14 July 1994, by Law No. 9.972, of 25 May 2000, and by Law No. 14.515 of 29 December 2022. In the context of the inspection of plant products, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock is responsible for managing agricultural protection, coordinating and carrying out inspection activities that include planning, monitoring, surveillance, standardisation, registration, accreditation, certification, control, supervision, auditing and inspection activities relating to agents in the plant production chain, whether domestic, exported or imported. The inspection will cover products of plant origin, whether or not they have been classified and established quality standards, with the aim of verifying the conformity, identity, quality and safety of these products.
