Abstract
This Decree, consisting of 31 articles divided into five Chapters, provides for the granting of the right to use groundwater within the territory of the Federal District as referred to in article 12 of Law No. 2.725 of 13 June 2001. The Water Resources Board, created by the same Law, shall be responsible for consultative and deliberative actions related to the formulation, implementation, execution, control and evaluation of the granting the right for groundwater use. The Secretary of the Environment and Water Resources, as the Water Resources Management Body of the Federal District, are responsible for granting the right for groundwater use and coordinate actions in the fields of research, studies, evaluations, registration of works of abstraction, granting rights, control of exploitation, and monitoring their interaction with surface and rain waters.
