Abstract
This Decree, consisting of 58 articles, regulates sanitary measures for plant protection and conservation within the State of São Paulo. Monitoring, inspection and execution of measures necessary to combat pests and diseases that may compromise the plant health in the State of São Paulo will be carried out under the planning, guidance and control of the Agricultural and Livestock Protection Coordination Office of the Secretary of Agriculture and Supply, which is responsible for establishing technical and operational standards. The activities to be carried out must comply with the legislation related to the plant protection. The actions and measures shall be exercised over individuals or legal entities, whether public or private. The phytosanitary surveillance service aims at the prevention, control and eradication of pests and diseases that may compromise plant health. The measures to be adopted should be compatible with the norms and principles of protection of the environment and conservation of natural resources, as well as preservation of human health. It is the responsibility of the Agricultural Defense Coordination to inspect, inspect and execute the measures and actions necessary for the protection of the health of plants, especially those of particular State interest. The actions of plant health surveillance and defense will be organized and coordinated by the Agricultural and Livestock Protection.
