Abstract
This Law, consisting of 16 articles, establishes sanitary measures for plant protection and conservation within the State of São Paulo. This Law specifies the measures to be satisfied in order to combat plant pests and diseases and to prevent the introduction and dissemination of pests within the territory. It provides for specific sanitary measures aiming at preserving and guaranteeing plant quality and health; at keeping the phytosanitary control service to eradicate pests, integrating in the Controlling Unified System to Agriculture and Livestock, according to Federal Law No. 9.712; at promoting the participation of local communities in plant protection measures, etc. Offences and penalties for illegal activities are appended to the text.
