Abstract
This Decree aims at regulating Law No. 9.059 of 15 October 2020, on the production and marketing of artisanal cheeses in the State of Rio de Janeiro. In order to produce and sell artisanal cheeses in the State, the artisanal cheese producing establishment must be registered with the Coordination for the Inspection of Products of Animal Origin (COOIPOA/SUPDA/SEAPPA) or with the Municipal Inspection Service (SIM) of a single municipality or organized in the form of a consortium. In order to be marketed, artisanal cheese must be authorized and have its labelling approved by the official health inspection service, body responsible for registering the production establishment, in compliance with the provisions of Law 9.059 and specific regulations. The labelling must include the specific name of each artisanal cheese in accordance with specific regulations based on the quality and identity parameters established for each type of cheese.
