Abstract
This Decree implements the State Agricultural Development Policy for the Central Region of Minas Gerais. Its main objective is to promote sustainable socioeconomic development through coordinated action among public institutions and stakeholders, integrating agricultural and agro-industrial production with logistics infrastructure, technological innovation, and environmental sustainability. The decree applies to municipalities within the geographic regions of Abaeté, Curvelo, Dores do Indaiá, Pará de Minas, and Sete Lagoas, and seeks to strengthen regional integration and agricultural competitiveness. The decree establishes a framework for enhancing agricultural and agro-industrial value chains, improving logistics and transport infrastructure, expanding access to electricity for productive activities, promoting agricultural research and technological innovation, encouraging technical assistance and rural extension services, attracting private investment and credit, supporting exports, and fostering environmentally sustainable regional development. It also promotes the regularization and expansion of irrigation and creates a Technical Chamber responsible for planning, monitoring, and evaluating implementation actions through an Integrated Development Action Plan for the region.
