Decree No. 52.110 creating the Inter-secretariat Chamber for Food and Nutrition Security (CAISAN) within the State System of Food and Nutrition Security (SISAN).

This Decree, consisting of 9 articles, creates the Inter-secretariat Chamber for Food and Nutrition Security (CAISAN) within the State System of Food and Nutrition Security (SISAN). The above mentioned Chamber has the purpose of promoting the articulation and integration of the organs and entities of the State Public Administration with regard to ​​food and nutritional security, and has the following competencies: to elaborate, based on the guidelines issued by the State Council for Food and Nutrition Security (CONSEA/RS): a) the State Policy on Food and Nutrition Security, indicating guidelines and instruments for its implementation; and b) the State Plan for Food and Nutrition Security; coordinate the implementation of the Policy and the State Plan for Food and Nutrition Security, through: a) permanent dialogue between CONSEA/RS and the executive bodies; and b) follow-up on the proposals of the multi-year plan, budget guidelines and the annual budget; to monitor and evaluate the allocation and application of resources dedicated to actions and programmes for food and nutrition security; ensure the follow-up of the analysis of the CONSEA/RS recommendations by the State Public Administration bodies.
