Decree No. 6.272 regulating the National Council for Food and Nutritional Security (CONSEA).

This Decree, consisting of 3 Chapters, regulates the National Council for Food and Nutritional Security (CONSEA). It establishes composition, structure, competences and functioning of the National Council for Food and Nutritional Security (CONSEA). This Council aims at the following activities: organizing National Conference on Food and Nutritional Security; setting the parameters of composition, organization and functioning of the Conference; proposing to the Ministerial Council on Food and Nutritional Security the Food and Nutritional Security guidelines of the National Policy and Plan for Food Security; coordinating, tracking and monitoring, in collaboration with the other members of SISAN, the implementation and convergence of related actions for the Policy and the National Plan for Food and Nutritional Security; setting criteria and procedures for adherence to SISAN, in collaboration with the Chamber on Food and Nutritional Security; establishing permanent mechanisms for coordination with agencies and similar food and nutrition security bodies in the States, Federal District and municipalities, in order to promote dialogue and convergence of actions that integrate SISAN; mobilizing and supporting the civil society in the discussion and implementation of the National Food and Nutrition Security; etc.
